Siding, Trim & Exterior Work
Siding, soffit, fascia, decks and curb appeal upgrades that protect the house as much as they improve it.
What We Do
Curb Appeal Is Also Weather Protection
Kentucky weather is hard on an exterior. Failed siding and rotted trim let water into framing long before anyone notices a stain on a ceiling. We replace siding, soffit, fascia and trim, rebuild porches and decks that are no longer safe, and finish with the details — clean lines, straight courses, properly flashed penetrations — that make a house look cared for from the street.
● Vinyl, LP, board-and-batten and cedar
● Soffit, fascia and gutter work
● Decks, porches and pergolas
● Window and exterior door replacement
● Exterior painting and trim carpentry
● Concrete, walkways and grading

What we do on the outside of the house
Siding, soffit, fascia, trim, wraps and flashing, decks and porches, and the details around windows and doors where water actually gets in. If a roof is part of it we handle that too — see our roofing page.
Siding is a water management system, not a skin
Most siding failures are not the siding. They are the flashing at a window head, a kickout missing where a roof meets a wall, or housewrap lapped the wrong way so water runs behind it instead of over it. Done properly, every layer sheds onto the one below. Done quickly, it looks identical on day one and shows up as a soft spot in five years.
What we check before quoting
We look at the sheathing condition where we can, the state of the trim and fascia, whether the existing wrap was installed at all, and how the grade sits against the wall. On older Louisville houses we are often removing two or three layers of previous work first, and that changes the number. We would rather tell you that up front.
Materials
Fibre cement, engineered wood, vinyl and traditional wood trim all have a place depending on the house and the budget. We will tell you plainly which we would put on our own place and why, rather than steering you at whatever we happen to have in the van.
